LONDON, UK – 17th June 2019 - Digital Colony, a global investment firm dedicated to strategic opportunities in digital infrastructure, today announced further growth of its UK platform through the acquisition of Spyder Facilities Limited, a leading UK wireless infrastructure company with over 5,000 locations available for wireless transmission technologies including the latest 5G rollout. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“Spyder has an exceptional portfolio of assets that enables mobile operators across the UK and Ireland to deliver high-quality services to their customers,” said Graham Payne, CEO of Digital Colony’s UK digital infrastructure platform. “As part of the Digital Colony UK platform Spyder will offer an even more compelling proposition to operators. Spyder’s agile, can-do and collaborative approach combined with our powerful resources will bring a fresh wave of towers to the market.”

“Working in conjunction with our mobile operator and landlord partners over the last 20 years, we have built Spyder into a highly regarded player in the digital infrastructure market,” said Andrew Saunders, Director of Spyder. “As we shift to the internet of things and other next generation technologies, connectivity is more critical than ever, and this partnership reinforces that goal. We are excited to be joining the Digital Colony UK platform to enhance our mutual capabilities.”

Digital Colony’s UK platform currently includes StrattoOpencell, the leading UK in-building service provider having delivered over 3,000 radio nodes across 150 sites offering full multi-operator service, and iWireless Solutions, a leading service provider that delivers outdoor small cells enabling smart cities and wireless connectivity solutions to some of the largest and highest profile venues in the UK including transport hubs, stadiums and arenas.
