Keeping the UK connected in good times and bad

The Covid-19 pandemic has seriously affected many aspects of our daily lives. And while it’s certainly not business as usual, key workers are still striving to make sure critical services are available and running as smoothly as possible.

With a large proportion of the population working from home and home schooling, there’s been a big change in the demands placed on the mobile network. Business use has plummeted and operators are now seeing high demand from homes throughout the day, whereas previously it would have been more in the evenings after people returned from work.

EE, O2, Vodafone and Three have been quick to respond to the new normal. They’re adding extra capacity to cope with increased demand, they’ve ramped up the resources they use to support critical infrastructure customers such as the NHS, and they’ve made some websites, such as the NHS, free to access so they don’t use people’s mobile data.

We’re proud to be supporting the operators to make sure that the country has the network it needs to get through these challenging times.
